Shattered Lives Campaign

The HSE have launched a new campaign to highlight the risk of slips and falls in the workplace. There are over 1000 injuries per month which are caused by a slip or fall, many of which could easily have been prevented. The ‘Shattered Lives’ campaign draws particular attention to the Working at Height Regulations 2005, which states:

 Every employer shall ensure that no person engages in any activity, including organisation, planning and supervision, in relation to work at height or work equipment for use in such work unless he is competent to do so or, if being trained, is being supervised by a competent person. 

It is important to note that there is no distinction made between low and high falls so for all work at height, measures must be taken to prevent the risk of any fall that could cause injury.
