Consultation on Draft Climate Change Bill
The UK Government is bringing forward proposals for a Climate Change Bill, aimed at addressing both the causes and consequences of climate change. The Bill will introduce a long-term framework for the UK to achieve its goals of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and ensure steps are taken towards adapting to the impacts of climate change.
Defra is seeking views on all parts of the consultation document, and in particular to the specific questions posed throughout Section 5 of the consultation document and the partial Regulatory Impact Assessment.
The questions amongst other things, seek the opinions on the proposed legally binding targets.
The closing date for responses is 12 June 2007. Further information is available from: http://www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/consult/climatechange-bill/index.htm
