Revised guidance on health and safety in food and drink manufacture

The HSE has published the third edition of its booklet covering occupational health and safety in food and drink manufacture. The booklet has been substantially revised and expanded, setting out the priority health and safety risks and providing benchmarks against which to measure performance. It also includes a management action plan.

The booklet is an integral part of the joint HSE and food industry Recipe for Safety initiative, which was launched in the early 1990s following the Health and Safety Commission’s concern that injury rates in the food and drink industries were too high.

HSG252: A Recipe for Safety: Occupational Health and Safety in Food and Drink Manufacture is available from HSE Books.
